Make chewy and fluffly, sourdough tortillas at home. These are easy, although they take some time, however the end result is totally worth it!

    Ingredients

4 Cups flour (fresh ground wheat is ideal!)
    1/2 - 3/4 Cup sourdough starter
    2 teaspoons salt
    2 teaspoons baking powder
2 Tablespoons oil (I like coconut oil)
    1 - 2 Cups warm/room temperature water as needed

    Directions

Mix together well all ingredients, except water. Add water a little bit at a time until dough can be gathered into a ball - but you don't want too much water, so do this part carefully!

Cover your bowl and let the dough rest for 7 hours (a little more is okay, but don't wait too long).

Heat up a skillet (or two) over medium-low heat. Pinch off a ball of dough 1 - 1 1/2 inches in diameter and roll into a ball. Press the dough ball in a greased tortilla press and place it into the ready to go skillet. Flip to cook the other side when the tortilla starts to bubble a little and the bottom is slightly browned.

    Makes 22 - 26 small tortillas.
